 Paul R. Munford, Ph.D.
Paul R. Munford, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist and internationally
recognized expert in the treatment of OCD and the anxiety disorders. He has
successfully treated hundreds of people, and trained scores of psychology
interns, psychiatry residents, and social work and nursing trainees. He has
published journal articles on anxiety disorders, two self-help books for OCD
sufferers, and made numerous presentations on the treatment of
panic disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder. Dr. Munford also developed and
directed the behavior therapy program for the OCD Partial Hospitalization
Program at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute where he was Adjunct Professor of
Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences.
Retiring from that position after 22 years, he relocated in Sacramento,
continued his clinical practice, and joined the Department of Psychiatry,
University of California, Davis School of Medicine as a Clinical Professor. There
he continued training psychiatry residents, psychology interns and other mental
health trainees in cognitive behavior therapy. Subsequently, he co-founded the
Anxiety Treatment Center of Northern California and directed its intensive
outpatient treatment program for OCD. That center is now closed because of his
move to the San Francisco Bay area where he and Dr. Arna Munford have
established the Cognitive Behavior Therapy Center for OCD and Anxiety.
He sits on the Scientific Advisory Board of the Obsessive Compulsive
Foundation and is a member of the American Psychological Association, Anxiety
Disorders Association of America, Association for Behavioral and Cognitive
Therapies, and Marin County
Psychological Association.
Arna M. Munford, Ph.D.
Arna M. Munford, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist with over 23 years
experience. She provided cognitive behavior therapy to children, adolescents,
and adults with chronic pain and other serious medical conditions as an
assistant clinical professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and the
Department of Psychiatry, UCLA School of Medicine. She also conducted research
at the Sepulveda Veterans Administration Medical Center on the effectiveness of
cognitive behavior therapy for anxiety and depression in patients with coronary
disease. She then became the Director of Psychological Services in The
Department Of Cardiology, Cedars Sinai Medical Center Los Angeles where she
developed and directed cognitive behavior therapy programs for fear and anxiety
reduction in cardiac patients. She has published findings from her studies in
scientific journals and presented them at professional meetings.
After moving to the Sacramento area, Dr. Munford joined the Department of
Psychiatry at Kaiser Permanente specializing in the treatment of anxiety, anger,
and other psychological problems. She also conducted research on the benefits of
cognitive behavior training for post cardiac event patients in the Department of
Cardiology’s Multifit program at Kaiser Permanente in Sacramento. Subsequently
retiring, she joined her husband, Dr. Paul Munford, in private practice and
continues to specialize in CBT for the anxiety disorders and co-directs the
Cognitive Behavior Therapy Center For OCD and Anxiety. She is a member of the
American Psychological Association, Obsessive Compulsive Foundation, Anxiety
Disorders Association of America, the Association for Behavioral and
Cognitive Therapies, and the Marin County Psychological Association.
Sheri R. Dillon, Psy.D.
Sheri R. Dillon, Psy.D. earned her doctorate in psychology from Pepperdine
University and has subsequently practiced clinical psychology for the past 14
years, providing cognitive behavioral therapy to adults, adolescents, and
children with anxiety and mood disorders. She has conducted research, made
scientific presentations at professional meetings, and is a member of the
Obsessive Compulsive Foundation, the Orange County Psychological Association,
and the American Psychological Association.
Because of her extensive experience, the Cognitive Behavior Therapy Center for
OCD and Anxiety enlisted her services to treat patients with
obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, and
generalized anxiety disorder. Dr. Dillon also addresses depression which is a
frequent condition arising from anxiety disorders, and with clients' permission,
she involves family members and significant others in their treatment. Dr.
Dillon received advanced training in cognitive behavior therapy from Drs. Paul
and Arna Munford and worked with them in the daily intensive treatment program
for clients with OCD and related Anxiety. She continues her association with
Drs. Paul and Arna Munford as an affiliate of the Cognitive Behavior Therapy
Center for OCD and Anxiety and is currently treating clients in the Orange

Susan Haverty, MFT
Susan Haverty, MFT is a licensed marriage and family therapist. She holds a
Masters of Arts Degree in Counseling Psychology from California State
University, Sacramento, and completed an internship at the University of
California, Davis Counseling Center. For over five years she was a member of the
Solano County Psychiatric Emergency Team in the Department of Mental Health were
she treated children, adolescents, adults and families for a wide range of
mental health problems.
Susan received training in cognitive behavior therapy from Dr. Paul R.
Munford with an emphasis on OCD, and worked with him treating clients with OCD
and other anxiety disorders. She continues her association with Dr. Munford as
an affiliate of the CBT Center and treats clients in the Sacramento area. She is
a member of the Obsessive Compulsive Foundation and the California Association
